I got the X1 Carbon a week ago and I’ve not had a great experience and customers support is not responding to my messages. Printing with a single filament it works great but the AMS has been buggy. The AMS will quickly and seemingly smoothly switch filaments then it stall for 5-15 minutes before it starts printing again. No errors, the screen just shows it’s in progress but it does nothing. Eventually it start again and print the next layer then repeat. How long should it sit idle after changing filaments and what is it dong?
I’ve never seen it sit idle. Sometimes it’s not obvious that it’s doing the purge of old filament, but you should be able to see and hear the spool advancing. Is the nozzle staying at temp?
So after it flushed the filament and after it loads the new one yours doesn’t pause for a while before printing? I’m not sure if it’s cooling down but I’ll check. Is there a way to stop the nozzle from cooling down?
No, mine doesn’t cool down at all. If it did, that would interfere with the unload/load. Watch the screen (or the Device tab in Studio) to see what it’s doing. As I mentioned earlier, it will be doing a filament purge which can seem as if it’s not doing anything. You should be able to hear the AMS occasionally advance the filament.
I have the same problem, how did you solve it?
