Did you buy No-spool filament? If you need bulk PLA filament, the No-spool filament is more suitable for less space occupied.
I bought I believe about a dozen rolls. A mix of spooled (the new TPU) and refills (only way most of the new colors were offered.
All of the PLA Basic series, so I have all colors now.
Most of them refills, so I received an empty spool for each 4 of them.
At $10.39 per spool with free next-day shipping, I stocked up on 3DHOJOR PLA. I figure I should also stock up before the new threatened tariffs kick in.
BTW: 3DHOJOR and JAYO filament on Amazon consistently offer the best deals, depending on who’s running a sale. I haven’t paid more than $0.31/oz (no more than $13 per spool) for over a year. Compare that to Bambu’s absurdly high prices, constant stock issues, slow shipping, and laughable return policy—I can’t see why anyone would bother with their filament unless they absolutely need the RFID spool for the AMS. Even then, is it worth paying double?
What’s more, with a bit of calibration, 3DHOJOR and JAYO filament print better than Bambu’s, based on my experience. Like many others who have posted on this forum, I’ve had too many disappointing encounters with Bambu filament due to inconsistent product quality. And when a spool from Amazon doesn’t meet expectations? It’s as simple as tossing it back in the bag and shipping it back—on their dime, no questions asked, even for opened spools. Can Bambu match that level of service?
BTW: I have Bambu to thank for developing my thrift-gene. When I first got my P1P, filaments were above $28 and often stocked out forcing me onto the open market. Thanks to Bambu, I discovered Orca slicer tuning and now every discount filament prints as well as those I purchased from Bambu.
Here’s my Black Friday purchases.
BBL PLA can be as cheap as 14€ per Kg.
I likely bought about a dozen+ more of these 3DHojor after a few weeks ago buying a test pack black and white for $20. The test filament printed perfectly on stock settings with My A1. Tip I learned the hard way. Their white is not all equal. My first white turned out to be Cold or Arctic White, and is absolutely perfect white and printed amazing. But my repurchase ended up with just “white” and was more of an off white maybe bone white, with a hint of khaki.
All in, at $10 - $16 a roll, most closer to $10. Buy with confidence in PLA Pro or PETG. All I have bought have printed great so far. Stock settings are good, but if you tend to tinker with settings like the post above. Should be good or even better.
I also bought 8 rolls from Bambu, but a week plus, and not even shipped, so Amazon wins for at least delivering 3 orders in the same time as Bambu has done nothing to ship anything. Maybe they ran out of something from my order. Be nice to ship what they could.
