How many spools of filament do you have?

500kg of filament on hand . Split between ABS and ASA-CF. Next set of orders I will be picking up ASA-GF and more ABS. A hungry bambu printer with a 0.6 nozzle can chew through 1kg of material a day. What happens when you have 12 hungry bambus?

I like this question. Iā€™m a hobbyist that only makes models for my friends and family. I have a X1C and a Dremel 453D (the x1c of its time 7 years ago). I have close to 100 spools of various brands sizes and types. I just ordered 7 more 1k spools today. My name is Todd and I have a problem.

weā€™ve got like two & a half spools here, but five more on order
amazed at the stock some of you folks keep onhand, sounds like youā€™re all running businesses or doing high volume printing! ^^

I donā€™t know whatā€™s your problem. All slicer softwares may or may not have all filament brands

Bambu Studio comes from Prusa slicer software, it didnā€™t come with much profiles. You would have to build them yourself.

Bambu put RFID so profile can be loaded properly. No problem for non-RFID filaments in AMS.

To make it a less headache, Generic with flow calibration is god send.

Anywhere from 40-60 rolls on averageā€¦ Mostly Grey & Black PETG (20 rolls right here) since that is what I use for robots and functional partsā€¦ Then some other PETG colors and a slew of PLA rolls in various colors of the rainbow for test prints and multi-color printing of indoor decorative items.

Mostly 4 or 5 spools. Either in the ams or still packed and sealed. Opening them up and then keeping them dry is to much hustle. If I run out or need something special I buy it on demand.

Filament is to men what fabric is to women!

I have over 25 spools of pla

How do you handle the ASA fumes?

As for the ASA/ABS fumes ā€¦

The printers are in a warehouse type space that isnā€™t sealed especially well. Both a blessing and curseā€¦

Outside of the carbon filter box in the printers that get changed often, we also use carbon-filters in the HVAC returns registers.

I did a bit of testing with a couple VOC meters awhile back. Barely registered an increase on the outside of the printer during the print jobs.

If the space the small/confined it would most likely be issue, but this room has relatively high ceilings and the room is around 35ā€™ x 35ā€™ in size so Iā€™m sure that helps too.

I have printed some additional charcoal filters for the right side of the printer but only installed on one of my X1Cs so far. Iā€™m sure it helps but since I wasnā€™t noticing anything without it, Iā€™m having a hard time finding the motivation to install on the other 3 - X1Cs.

One thing I do noticed is how quickly the door and top ā€œfog upā€. That freaks me out a bit, but also reminds to that I need to clean them and wipe down the carbon rods, etc.

12 spools of ramdom amazon purchases but 20 sunlu pla + arriving in 1 hour. its only my first week in 3d printing lol.
To be honest I have been working on 10 plates of projects for 2 months before I got the printer.

Paging @Josh-3D ā€¦ :joy::rofl::joy::rofl:

I either have too many spools or too few AMS units. Recently bought a bunch of poly cereal boxes to neaten up my storage and realized I need more. Sigh. :joy:

:joy:, heā€™s got more spools than Bambu, maybe thatā€™s why thereā€™s a shortage??:rofl:

Look, Iā€™m not saying Iā€™m running out of space to store my filament neatly and orderly, but I am. I had to get some more cereal box containers too. Anyway, I resent being accused of causing the shortage of filament. I neeeeeeeded that filament, to make ridiculous things.

My next project is looking to be a 8+ roll of filament beast too. Iā€™ve got a little Texas in me I guess. Gotta go big. :cowboy_hat_face:

I only have 148 filaments at the moment.

20 of those are spares of others. 128 are different types and colours.

Half are from Bambu Lab, the other half are from various brands including:

  • eSun
  • Yousu
  • Giantarm
  • Eryone
  • Ziro
  • Overture
  • Elegoo
  • eNotepad
  • DD
  • Tinmorry
  • Anycubic
  • Pinrui

This is a hobby for me, I do not sell my models, the only place that gets them is here on MW.

Itā€™s a common misconception that a refrigerator needs to be up against a wall. If you pull that sucker out a little bit you can put a bookshelf behind it. Also where do people come off expecting there to be room for their legs under a dining room table, itā€™s 2024 for goodness sake!

134 ATM. Sorry for the mess.

And the lady in the corner is???

The wifeys worst enemy lol
