Hi all,
I’m upgrading from an Ender 3 V2, which runs at about 55/60db.
I’m struggling to find the decibel ratings of the Bambulabs printers, some say the P1S is “unbearable” others say the P1P is whisper quiet.
Are there any actual readings available to help me make my decision?
My Ender 3 S1 Pro was louder than my P1P and X1C, so it depends on the thing you are printing, I forewarned my wife that the P1P was going to be louder and it wasn’t, actually the Ender could be heard from the bedroom if printing a long job, whereas we cannot hear either the P1P or X1C
Interesting to know!
Owning both printers, which one would you recommend? I’m looking at the P1S with the AMS, I’m struggling to justify the X1C for another £400.
I don’t own both now, I sold my P1P and bought the X1C, I loved the P1P that much I invested in the X1C, I only had the P1P for 3 weeks and sold it for what I paid.
You will always want what you are missing, especially if the new firmware been beta tested is anything to go on, 1 main feature is the Lidar detecting a fallen piece of a multi build, and instead of cancelling the whole build, it stops printing that fallen piece, thus saving the remaining print and spaghetti all over your bed
I see no indication whatsoever that the ‘skip object x’ feature would be exclusive of the P1P/P1S.
Also, LiDAR has nothing to do with spaghetti or print failure detection, that is done via the standard camera.
The LiDAR feature is useful for the automatic flow rate calibration.
Well unless you have a camera installed on your toolhead, then it will only be a feature for the X1C
As much as I know the chassis camera is only for live view and timelapse, it no bearing on the current print
I don’t think so but of course could be wrong.
Looking at when my X1C stopped a print due to spaghetti detection was always when the toolhead wasn’t blocking the object anymore; hence why I infered that it is the chassis camera that does the detection.
But I guess any P1P/P1S user can confrim or deny this.
Something the P1P nor P1S have a second camera, exclusive to the X1 range, thus the difference in pricing
That is why the X1C can tell what plate you are using, whereas the P1P and P1S can’t
Fans are very noisy, the printer itself is fine. Chamber fan (which is mostly unnecessary) is the worst.
I have a loose/weird sounding Aux fan so sometimes I turn it down from 70% (default when printing PLA) to 50% and am about to change it.
Slowing the fans a bit helps a lot, but you need to make sure you are not printing layer too fast then.
Is that the X1 or the P1S?
