How not to dispose of filament supports ... I'll go first

So I like letting my kids help with 3D prints and our robotics projects … in this case, I learned that letting the daughter remove tree supports from some dragons saved me time until it didn’t.

Do y’all know how long it takes to get a bunch of support scraps out of a mechanical keyboard … this was a fun morning.

What’s been your “funniest” experience with filament support waste?

I wouldn’t call it funny but worst: Jamming support filament under my fingernail

Man, I did that a couple months ago. Was trying to remove a support with my thumb and it went under my nail about half way up. It hurt for 2 weeks straight and it’s still healing after 2 months. NEVER AGAIN. I need some chainmail gloves or something. lol

OH MAN! I did that with the little annual registration sticker on my car’s license plate last week… that tiny shard of metal-sticker up the fingernail just stopped hurting yesterday.

I had a really full bin of A1 mini waste at the side of my printer, I moved some things around to fit another printer in and unfortunately the bin fell behind the desk all over the power sockets and in a place my crippled body can’t access.

I now have to ask a friend to clean my poop up for me as it is all over the floor.

I look forward to that!

Thankfully the power sockets aren’t at risk of fire.

Hahah, I’m imagining that conversation and it’s cracking me up. Good friends clean up other friends poop, no questions asked

I think that is a sign that you 3D print … and that’s even after I learned about using good adhesive to help keep sticking to plates and all that.

I luckily have little mini me’s to help reach things that fall that and a smaller sized shopvac that is frankly awesome.
