How to copy support settings from one object to another

I just printed a MakerWorld object that needed supports and the supports were a breeze to remove. So I added another different object STL that I wanted the same supports and I had to copy the settings one by one by flipping to the original object then to the new one. It worked but very cumbersome. Google says:

But I can’t find the “Copy Settings” in the context menu. Is there a way to do this in Bambu Studio?

Total noob to the 3D printing thing. Thanks for your help!

I’m trying to follow the guide you posted and it does not work for me either.

I do this all the time though, I have a part that I make a bunch of ‘object’ settings on, then I have a copy of that part that I want the same settings on, easy:

  • delete the copy, it’s useless.
  • copy the part with all the settings, paste it, done.

It works for me, I would expect it to work for you. The problem is that if those copies are part of an assembly the assembly view gets dorked up but that isn’t too big of a deal.

Edit: now I’m just realizing you likely aren’t talking about the SAME part. I’ll look more into the copy settings thing but as a workaround if those settings were just global your job would be done.

OK, looks like this workflow might work for you:

You have one STL with settings all set up and you want to xfer that to another STL:

  • Copy the STL with the settings and paste it, we will change it momentarily.
  • Right click the new copy and ‘Replace with STL’
  • Select the new part, it should be imported with the previous parts settings.

That is amazing. Amazing that you understood my poorly worded question and amazing that you worked that out. Now it will be easier for me as a noob to copy attributes of designs I like while I learn. Thanks!

I cant find “Copy Settings”

You aren’t going to copy the settings themselves, you want to copy the object itself. Try using CTRL+C to copy then CTRL+V to paste, then right click this 2nd object and select “Replace with STL”, and select the object you want the settings copied to. This preserves the settings of the first object, but replaces the geometry with the model you select.
