I have new A1 mini.
Today I tried for the first time to use the external spool holder for TPU filament (Ninjaflex).
It took a while to figure out to enable the external spool in Bambu Studio.
The external spool was available as a choice only after disconneting the AMS lite from the A1 mini.
Is it possible to disable the AMS lite for using the external spool of the A1 mini without disconnecting the AMS lite?
I read some posts which figured out, that there is a disable AMS option for other Bambu printers…but I didn’t find a disable AMS lite in the Bambu Studio when a A1 mini is used.
Is there really no option or am I too stupid to find it

You do not have to disable the AMS Lite. Just define in the menu of the printer your filament on this external spool. (there is an external spool tab, in the AMS section of your A1 Mini) or just in bambu slicer as you did before, define your external spool, with your filament you are using.
Send it to your printer while you like to print your object, and set there > external spool < for use. Just mark it.
I have printed without disable the ams from my printer so it works with AMS connected too.
But you still have to connect your tubing to your dryer or external spool holder. So you could also easy disconect your AMS by hand. Or did I misunderstood you?
If your NinjaFlex TPU is below 95A and will not work in your extruder, consider this:
Thank you for your reply.
- I defined in the printer the external spool.
- I defined a special user defined filament profile in Bambu Studio.
- I have printed a TPU benchy successfully on the external spool with disconnected AMS.
So far so good, but…
In the Bambu Studio “Send printer job to” dialog box I have only the choice between the four AMS channels as long as the AMS is connected!?
There is no “external spool” choice?
I have no idea how to enable the external spool option as long as the AMS is connected!?
For sure I have misconfigured something, but I didn’t find where and what!

Pretty sure right before you actually send the print to the printer there is the option to toggle the AMS on/off. At least there is for my A1.
Yeah…that’s what I assumed…but unfortunately something is misconfigured in my Bambu Studio.
There is only the AMS with it’s four channels visible.
Can you please upload a snapshot of the configuration dialog, so that I have an idea of where to look for the enable/disable switch?
Thx and…

Well…that is pretty obvious…unfortunately I am in office and my printer is switched off, so that I see remotely the following:
Hopefully the checkboxes are added when the printer is online…I will check that, when I am @home later.
Thx for the support…seems too easy…I wonder how I had overseen that!?
Will check and give an update later.

It’s not in the most logical position for the toggle setting as you’d think it’d be near the filament settings themselves. Also, it will be hidden with no comms with the printer as it is an accessory that has to be detected.
It is there and I don’t understand why I haven’t found it before!
Thx a lot…
