I have some print instructions intended for the cura slicer, but I need to apply these settings in the bambu studio slicer. Just hoping perhaps someone else has some knowledge on how to find these settings, as the layout of the two programs seems quite a bit different? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks appreciate the input. Its a shame there isn’t more standardized terminology between different slicing programs. But hopefully I can figure it out.
Okay, so I think the remaining setting I’m still stuck on is “wall thickness”. I’ve tried looking in the wiki and googling an alternate wording, but I can’t see any reference to this one? In cura it’s under the “wall” sub section. But studio doesn’t seem to have anything that looks similar within that sub section?
I have not used Cura but Google AI tells me The default wall thickness in Cura is 1.2 mm, which is equivalent to three lines when using a nozzle that is 0.4 mm in size. This is considered a good thickness because it balances part strength with functionality without increasing the amount of material used or print time.
Here are some things to consider when setting the wall thickness in Cura:
** Wall thickness and line width**
Cura rounds the wall thickness to a multiple of the line width. A wall thickness that is two or three times the line width is usually sufficient.
Wall thickness in Studio is set using the number of wall loops (Strength tab) and the thickness of inner/outer wall line widths (Quality tab).
Three wall loops with 0.42mm outer wall and 0.40 mm inner wall would have a total thickness of 0.42 + 2 x 0.40 = 1.22 mm.
Seems like Studio might provide more precise control of wall thickness, if that matters for your models.
