How to FORCE Brims to be added & what are PAINTED Brims?

I have a design with a few small fairly flat round pieces (about 10 mm) which I continuously have trouble getting to stick successfully, they need brims. I have my brim selection set to AUTO (and I’ve tried OUTER BRIM ONLY but that didn’t work) but every time I slice it doesn’t add brims. I don’t see an option for MANUAL brims in the Brim Type dropdown. Why doesn’t AUTO recognize these small parts and automatically add the brims? Since this doesn’t appear to be working, how can I FORCE brims to be applied?

How do you PAINT BRIMS? And if you do that are those FORCED regardless of what the slicer believes is needed?

Thanks. Thought I had tried that and I didn’t see the brims applied. But I just tried again and it works. Thanks.

what is painted though? I assumed selecting that would allow me to “paint” areas for brim but I cannot seem to get that part to work.

Painting tools are all in the top bar. Mouse ear painting on the right of that bar.
