So I have two black ABS and two white ABS spools in my AMS almost all the time. I was doing a small print and I selected #4 spool which was white and almost empty. Then when the print started it ignored that and used #3 instead. For the next print I had to physically remove #3 from the AMS feeder so it would actually use the spool I told it to.
that is true, it by default uses the lowest slot number with the same filament.
I think you can override that when you press print and it shows the filament map. It defaults to the lowest number. But can’t you overide that pointing it to the desired slot. No need to swap slot.
I am sure someone KNOWS this. I am unsure.
If you select a material that is different than it thinks is correct it might ask you to confirm.
If you tell it to override, then after the print complete, and tell it to reprint. It does NOT use the override.
