How to get rid of Text and color on the MV models?

The people that do this don’t care about you, they care about points, likes, money, gift cards. The people that often beg for boost, don’t have the best models and what they churn out is an attempt to cash grab. Their lack of inclusion of customization is a reflection of that.

That’s a broad statement and I know it doesn’t reflect everyone. We all benefit from boost and all that stuff, as designers, so I can’t deny that I want boost and stuff too. However, we can still conduct ourselves professionally while pursuing our goals and needs in life.

The reality is there’s an even broader range of reasons why customization might not happen on a given model, and they’re all valid reasons.

Things are changing. Makerworld is a very consumer focused model repository. It’s not just tinkerers or fellow designers anymore. There’s a lot of people that don’t have those skill sets, but still want to enjoy 3d printing. they don’t need to be tinkerers or designers though; there’s room for everyone.

There’s a lot more fully fleshed out products. Things that are on the level of what you see on the store shelf. Not just small gimmicks, as you put it (I wouldn’t all that a gimmick either though, because a dishwasher magnet like that is a useful product I’ve purchased before 3d printing was even so big). I’ve created some of those projects, with the focus towards being on the same level as if you want into the store and purchased a likewise product, or hopefully in some cases, even better.

I guess that does lend itself some into the ideals of being able to customize, but there’s still a lot of if ands or butts associated with that.

I understand. And I’m not trying to cut you off. You got me thinking on the topic and wanted to share some thoughts too.
