How to get rid of Text and color on the MV models?

I have stayed out of this for fear of stirring things up.

But, I have to take exception with people demanding designers solve every possible problem.

We are not a single language world, that is not the fault of the designer.

Not supporting all languages is not the fault of the designer.

Not providing customisable versions is not the fault of the designer.

Not providing blank versions so others can manipulate the model is nit the fault of the designer.

English speakers can’t get versions of Chinese things in English unless there is a design choice involved.

Then why would they care for ratings

Ratings are entirely unrelated to model designs, they are only about the success of the model being printed, nothing more. It concerns me how many people rate models and not the ability of it to be printed. The information about WHAT is being rated is there during the rating process.

Why designers like ratings is they confirm their belief the model prints and they are financially rewarded for their efforts. Are you suggesting either of these are wrong? Should the designer not care and should they not be rewarded?

Will it be fair to give them boost and 5 star, while there are modelers who uploaded 20 different variations of 10+ plates of their model and spent maybe months worth of work and their model prints flawlessly. The rating system works a bit strange here. Similar to giving the same trophy to everyone just because they participated. No 1st , 2nd or 3rd place, just participation.

You clearly have no idea what you are rating or why, I strongly recommend you read the rating rules before ever giving another one as you are clearly doing it wrong right now.

Also making those blanks will increase the potential downloads of your model. People will not skip it because they do not want that text.

Making blanks increases the likelihood of people stealing them, making them their own and selling them. Sometimes it is about protecting your IP.

Let me get this one out of the way first. I am not native English speaker. I did not use “inconsiderate” as an insult.

English native speaker or not, saying designers are inconsiderate means you believe they didn’t consider you and your needs.

This implies designers thought let’s exclude this bloke or let’s not include other languages.

Sometimes someone is just designing something and wants to share it.

What you should have done.

Rather than rant on the forum (ranting in general is fine) that designers aren’t doing enough for you and demanding all designers do your bidding and change everything they do for your needs you could have simply…

Direct messaged the designer and kindly asked them if they would make a language specific version for you and you provide the translations.

I wouldn’t be opposed to getting that request, I have tweaked models in the past because people asked nicely. I don’t guarantee doing it, there are many good reasons not to, but, you may well have found a positive response.

Instead, intentionally or otherwise you have insulted people with your demands for special treatment based on your belief designers are lazy and don’t want to solve issues they never even considered or should have to consider.
