How to place part flush on top of another in Bambu Studio?

Hey all, so when I’m doing my multicolour prints it’s usually a base with another colour on top. When I import into Flashprint the software remembers the location co-ordinates on both parts in the 3D space so they are automatically aligned properly. When I try the same in Bambu Studio it puts both parts on the bed in a seemingly random location. Currently I’m using the centre option to align the 2 parts in the middle of the bed, then manually adjusting the Z height to put the second part on top of the first (based on the physical measurements of the parts)

The problem I’m finding with this is the printer is printing a tiny imprint of the top part into the base part, which is interfering with ironing. Is there a way of ‘snapping’ the part to the top of the base in Studio so the software knows what’s going on?

Did you ever figure this out? we need an option to align them together so the print embeds at the same height as the top layer/bottom layer, it is really frustrating.

I’m probably misunderstanding what your are trying to do, but…

It sounds like you could combine the two parts into a single model and just change change colors at the appropriate layer height. No need to align or join two individual parts.

I would do the following

load the first part, right click and add modifier, load the next part. check the height of the first part and amend the height of the second to match that. Then move it above the first part and amend x and y to 0 to align the part and change type to “part”.
