I’m working on a part that looks a bit like the tube in the photo below—long, and complex, and with some narrow internal channels. When I slice it in Bambu Studio, the software generates plenty of supports deep inside the tube. Unfortunately they’re almost impossible to reach, and I can’t leave any material rattling around inside once the print is finished.
If you’ve tackled a similar problem, how did you manage it? Thanks a lot!
If you check the “0nly on build plate” option in the supports area it will only generate supports on the outside of the model. With the right orientation that part shouldn’t need muck, if any supports.
If you need assistance you can upload the .3mf to the forum.
My whistles don’t have those winding tubes but in some of the unsupported places I designed in my own supports. It’s more work but you will have more control in how well the supports stick if they have to be built off the model. You could also design a piece of plastic to go along with the model that’s kind-of like those sink uncloggers that can snake around corners to grab hair clogs.
