How to purchase ST3x8 screws?

I am trying to install additional spool holder brackets onto my P2S (the one it came with is being used for a TPU assist mount, and I’m trying to add another to hold a power brink mount). Per Spool Holder - P2S | Bambu Lab US Store, each uses 2x ST3x8 screws.

However, I can’t find anywhere in the Bambu store to buy these…they only have M3x8 and BT3x8. A Practical Guide to Screws for Bambu Lab Printers | Bambu Lab Wiki says “Do not interchange BT, ST, and M-series screws! They have different thread profiles and pitches; intermixing can cause stripped threads, cracking of plastics, or permanent damage to the tapped holes.”

Does anyone know where I can find these (or a suitable replacement) in the US? Similarly, I’d love to keep around some replacement ST3x4.5 screws for the back cover, but same issue.

Most metric “sheet metal screws” I’ve found on Amazon seem to have a wider pitch (more closely matching BT3 screws) than the Bambu ST screws seem to have.

Search online retailers for “Bambu replacement screw kit”

You might want to look for a screw pack for your model of printer. I am pretty sure that BL does not sell loose screws by their size but will sell you a set of every screw that your model printer uses. I have a p1 and I bought what they called a “Screw KIT” which was a pack of all the screws for the entire machine. You might look to see if something like that is available or just buy the pack for the P1 They look almost identical in physical layout.

Probably a few more than you need:

I’ve spent a lot of time looking there.

However, the thread pitch (for example, Etauwe 100-Piece M3 x 8mm Black Self-Tapping Screws - 304 Stainless Steel Flat Head Hex Socket Cap Screws with Drive Bit, for Wood and Thin Metal: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific ) seems much wider than the Bambu ST screws st2-3.5.png (147×185), and closer to the BT screws bt3-8.png (267×381).

The ST (self-tapping for sheet metal) are specifically described as “sharp thread profiles with a relatively fine pitch and a pointed tip” with thread pitch resembling machine screws, while the BT (self-tapping for plastic) have “shallower threads with a wider pitch.

I’m not sure how much difference it makes in practice, but I want to avoid using incompatible threads and causing “permanent damage to the tapped holes” (from the wiki).

That has the ST3x4.5 screws, but not ST3x8. The only place I’ve seen ST3x8 is along with various replacement parts…X2D Filament Cutter/Stopper, P2S Spool Holder, A2L X-Axis Motor Cover, etc. I just need the screws, not the other parts.

Closest I’ve found is the “AMS lite Top Mount Screws Kit”, which is listed as coming with 5x ST3x8 that are “not needed for the installation but users can keep it for spare use”. I’ll probably just get one of those.

I did a quick run through of screws on the wiki and it looks like you have various options.

The AMS Lite Top Mount Screws Kit appears to have 5 of the ST3-8 screws. at $2.00 you could buy multiple packs if so desired.
