How to repair mesh/non-manifold edges without losing painted texture

I just spent hours painting a model in Bambu Studio when it suddenly determined that there were now a few hundred non-manifold edges. If I use the windows repair option, all the painted texture will be lost. Is there any other way to repair the model without losing all that work spent painting?

I tried using MeshMixer, but the file would not import.

Slicer won’t let you do that. My advice, slice it and then walk the layers in the preview and see if it’s spazzing out anyplace. Nonmanifold does not necessarily mean not sliceable.

Pop the original in to Meshmixer so you can see where the nonmanifold edges are, so you know where to look in the slicer preview.

I usually go back in to my CAD program if the slicer complains when I load the STL, fix the nonmanifold edges there. But every once in a while, I don’t notice until I’ve already done a bunch of setup in the slicer. 9 times out of 10, the model slices and prints fine in spite of the “errors”.
