How to reprint a file in a different color, same filament

Is there a way to tell the printer to choose a different color from the AMS but same filament (IE: Black PLA instead of Green PLA) when trying to reprint a file? This would be very handy…

Well, it has been a few days since I last re-printed a cached file. But if I remember correctly, it was indeed possible to select the AMS slot as well as the usual print options (bed levelling, flow calibration, etc.) after selecting the file. And while you probably cannot chose, for instance, PETG if the file was sliced for PLA, selecting the same material of another color is most likely possible. Just make sure it is the same PLA type from the same manufacturer so parameters match close enough to get a decent print result. Yes, the optimum parameters may even differ a little between different colors of the same brand, but in my experience it rarely makes a notable difference – at least with PLA.

Awesome to know. Is this possible to do from the app as well?

Yes, you can:

You get the exact same options in the Bambu Handy app as on the printer’s touchscreen, just with a slightly different layout.
