Having seen a HueForge generated model, is it out of the question to claim an original model if you use the same picture. Everything is absolutely different (new HueForge generated file), including using different filament (except for the picture)?
If the image was pulled off the internet or even AI generated, then no. One could argue nothing about Hueforge should be claimed as original work due to 95% not having rights to the images.
HueForge I think has their own rules…JMO
I’ve made a Profile from almost every HueForge I’ve printed made by another user.
Some I’ve resized, some I change colors, mostly because I find my settings better.
Because most HF models are pics from the internet…technically…I’m not sure how original it really is.
With that…
If your just changing a few details from another HF, them just add a Profile to their model.
If your using the same pic & using the HF program to make something a little different…then technically it’s new…but it just seems like a point grab…becuase technically, the HF is already posted…JMO
So in other words if I had came across the picture on the internet and never seen the mentioned HueForge it would not be a point grab? I know semantics.
Yeah, I guess you could look at it that way. I like the idea of putting it in a profile if you don’t change much. HueForge is fun, I jumped in early, just don’t use it anymore. I don’t begrudge anyone who uses it. Just isn’t really original.
What I’d do is digitally draw a pic or character with HueForge in mind. That way you own the image (I guess you could do it with a photograph you took too) and it will be as original as you can get.
