Humidity level down, but indicator is still red

Good evening ladies and gents. Im new to FDM 3D printing and received my X1C combo with the AMS a few days ago. I have been doing the basics of setting it up. I did some research and purchased some desiccant packs and other stuff to prepair my machine for printing. I let the desiccant packs sit in the AMS for about a day. The humidity is down to 10%, but the indicator is still in the red. Will the indicator ever turn green?

It will, it just takes time. The indicator isn’t know for accuracy and I suspect it doesn’t update often. Loading it up with filament will decrease the air space.

Thanks for the reply! I’ll load up some filament also

No, No, No… You are reading the gauge incorrectly.
The bars on the right side of the gauge indicate how much absorption capacity you have left.
The bubble gauge indicates the humidity level in the AMS.
Ideally, you want the bubble gauge to read low, and the bar gauge to be as high as possible.
Like this…

What you have now indicates that the absorption pads need changed.
If you just changed them, you need to give it 24 hours to adjust.
One thing that I find helps a bunch is to lift and close the lid a bunch of times rapidly to “fan the air” inside the AMS and help to displace the air volume inside.
