Hygrometer: which one keeps working?

I have been using several Hygro meters, of the round type. Although I have bought several at different vendors, they all break down. Especially the LCD screen often malfunctions by dead segments.

Here’s the round type of hygrometer I refer to:

My question:
Who can recommend a reliable hygrometer, preferably also round?
Please share a weblink if you recommend one.

Have you bought the Circular Digital Thermometer Hygrometer Bambu Lab sells, it looks like what you’re showing. Mine is setting above my printer on a shelf and has been working non stop with no issues since buying it. I’m assuming you’ve tried changing the little batteries in them when they start having problems? How long have your’s worked before having issues?

I’ve always found that losing segments in these hygrometers meant it was time for a battery change. On the rare occurrence that that didn’t fix it, a quick clean of the lcd zebra strip and circuit board solved the issue.

Not round, but Zigbee temperature/humidity sensors fit nicely in the AMS as they are pretty small and you can view the status on your smartphone.

I use the round version of the Zigbee ones. I’ve gotten them as cheap as $9 each on Aliexpress but currently you can get them for $12.

Zebedee, such a beloved character from the children’s tv show magic roundabout.

I just pulled it up on Youtube and it’s pretty awesome. It reminds me of all those stop motion Rankin/Bass specials.

Imagine watching this as a child.

Then, imagine watching this on drugs in your early twenties, it must have an entirely new meaning.

Thnx all for your contribution!

Which version used
Concerning the round ones, like in my picture: I have used them from AliExpress and the Bambu Lab version. All have the same.

Batteries
I have used brand newA76 batteries. When the segments disappear, placing a brand new battery does not solve the issue.

My preferred version
I definitely want a version with a display. I need to see the temp and humidity on the spot (opening an App to see the Zigbee info takes too much time).

Again, the issue also appears when the casing of this hydro meter is being pressed (even a bit). I will try the suggestion by @JonRaymond to see if cleaning the LCD zebra strip helps.

I was referring to my earlier post purposely miss reading zigbee (the wireless protocol) as Zebedee (a childhood British tv show).

I then pointed out the show meant something different to a child watching it and one who was older and possibly a little less sober (in all senses).

It was a very weird show.

I switched to the square version like this one: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808124233218.html
I was having the same issue with the round ones — the LCD would die — but with the square ones, some batteries still die after about a year. I just replace the battery and they work fine again.

Sorry to revive this thread, has anyone considered analog hygrometers? Since they do not contain batteries and lcd, they should survive long and can withstand heating in the ams 2. But how is the accuracy? Disadvantages?
