You need to provide bunch more information. What printer, build plate, filament, what’s failing etc etc. The more information the better.
Sunlu pla textured pei stock settings the top layer is not smooth
Have you calibrated your filament? Be aware that the top layer is going to be the roughest and irregular of all the surfaces.
I have calibrated filament the top layer is rougher than normal
What is the problem, the stringing? I find that when I have wet filament I get stringing like that. Have you dried that filament before using it?
The top layer is really rough.
Dulphy asked you:
Have you dried that filament before using it?
It’s important that the filament is dry.
Hi Everyone;
no idea whats going wrong with our printer; from printing obviously not initialising properly (no extrusion happening) to prints afailing halfway through to even having spaghetti and also having real bad cohesion.
Ive tried brand new filament, filament i further dried, old filament and still nothing is working. Same for the cool plate, textured plate, nothing is making a difference. I even purchased a whole brand new hot end incase that was the issue and now it seems to be even worse.
Getting really frustrated, havent been able to print one thing successfully… really starting to give up.
please any advice?
My brand new carbon is doing the same. I had the P1S until a week ago and had zero issues with the same bambu silver silk I used there. I get stringy strips on horizontal rougher areas and bubbles and potholes on higher but also smooth vertical surfaces. If you find an answer let me know.
will do; have tried everything under the sun; going to try to go through the return/support process because at this point its the most expensive paperweight in my house.
Probably best to create a new topic but your best bet would be to start again from the beginning. Do a factory reset and full calibration and go from there.
Have youbtried printing with Bambu Filament? Have you searched for suggested Settings for you Filament?
Are you sure its really dry? You said you dried it…How and how long? I get my best results in putting it in a Sunlu S2 over night and then packing each spool in a separte, sealed container with silica until the moisture there is below 10%
It needs some time from drying until the whole Spool is really really dry to its core. And for the AMS I printed somw containers and have ~500g of silica in it, which results in a humidity under 10% in there as well…
Also, if you use PLA and it git really moiat at one time, its necer gonna get good again. But you can test that very easily, just make a 180° bend and if it breaks, its probably rubbish…
For your top layer Issue: Have you tried ironing after print?
sorry! couldnt see how to make a new topic so decided to tack on to the bottom of this one!
Ill do this now and get back to you guys!
Yes we have; still get same issues.
i have 2 dryers; a home built one out of the food hydrator and some comgrow individual spool dryers.
how would you dry? at what temp and duration? ive tried varies times and heats between 40-55 degrees and for between 4 to 16 hours and still have issues.
I have not tried irioning on as we still have never really made it to a top surface layer yet…
everything seems to be going better with first layers, but now getting extrusion issues midway through the print. it just stops extruding and continues moving the toolhead with nothing coming out.
I had poor quality top layers despite flow calibration at the beginning of the print job.
Can Bambu Lab explain why we have overextrusion/underextrusion problems despite flow rate calibration? Is flow rate calibration just a theatre?
You need to provide more detail. Suggest starting your own thread with more info such as filament used as well as pictures of your issue.
