I think my head cleaner is in trouble. Can anyone diagnose?

I dont how this came about but last night I tried a print with some white filament and the print failed, there was filament everywhere in the unit and I just thought I hadn’t got first layer adhesion and things had gone out of control. So I quit and went to bed. Today I went to print something different with the black spool and that print failed on preparation, I went to check what was going on and again noticed a ton of filament everywhere but also noticed the printhead cleaning area was full of white and black poop that hadn’t been ejected. When I cleared it all out there is no actual head cleaner there. Has it snapped off? Salvageable? I can’t remember what this area looked like beforehand so I’m not sure what I need to do. What do you think caused this? The rear chute isn’t blocked or anything. Could it be a blunt cutting blade?

Any help fixing would be appreciated. Im hoping any parts are available.

Thanks all

I think you’re referring to the nozzle wiper…which is intended to be replaced pretty routinely (anytime it’s showing signs of wear).

head cleaner, nozzle wiper. same thing

And you clearly have not been checking it or replacing it as it wears. I’d recommend starting there.

You’ll also have better luck finding replacement parts if you refer to it by the correct name.

Hint: you likely received several with the original shipment…though that may only be on the combo units.

wow, hostility is real

Okay so it’s just a bolt on disposable accessory. I was worried it was a complex mechanism that’d snapped off.

I’m surprised it broke off but here’s how to replace it

Thanks for that, yeah I genuinely panicked and thought it was an entire mechanism linked to the poop shoot hatch, but it’s just it’s own little thing.

Head cleaner, rented a VHS movie by that name once, not as exciting as I thought it would be.

haha, it was your tracking all along mate !
