I have a part which can be duplicated 6 times on an X1C and 9 times on an H2C due to the larger build size. I wish that I could save one 3mf with the different build plates so that I don’t have to keep two separate 3mf files.
This way I could open one 3mf file and choose to send jobs to either my X1C or H2C without having to mess around with placement of objects.
Or you could open the X1C file, change the printer to an H2C, and right click “fill bed with copies”.
ya I tried that but it doesn’t work well it only places 8, but if I do it manually then I can fit 9 on the bed. Plus it is annoying to have to do all this work each time if I only have one 3mf file. Right now I have two saved 3mf files, one for X1C and the other for H2C so that I can open the file, slice and print and not have to do more work. But again, it would be better if I just had 1 file rather than 2 with everything perfectly arranged for both of the print beds.
Multi printer project files are problematic IMO
I save 3mf files locally with the platform I intend to print on and maybe have a couple copies for A1, ECC, Qidi, etc… I find it easier to maintain any geometry type changes [uncommon] across all N variants than it is to maintain settings type changes [common] across all N variants, so I make the computer do the hard part and Ill do the easier part
