A month or so back i was experimenting with the Image to 3D tool and found it to be excellent. Even with a human photos I had some great results. (I think better than I’m currently getting with something new like Trellis3D)
Trying it again now the results are completely different.
The created models are now very ‘toy like’ with very shiny texture.
Have others noticed this as well? I hope I’m not just imagaining it!
Cute indeed, but it’s “Printmon Maker”, not “Image to 3D”.
Answering the question @Humble3d asked, I noticed the results are somehow different but I can’t tell what exactly has changed, I’ve only used it a few times. Texture might have something to do with it, as you say.
Trellis3D is ■■■■ but image to statue is about the best there is that I know of except it never works if the object is wearing a hat. I wish they would fix that. Any other places to do image to model?
I found the reverse - image to 3D is much, much better now than the previous version. Round images come out rounded now. Shapes are consistent, finally. Extra bits of geometry aren’t being added anymore.
Um, yes, don’t confused “Image to 3D” (fairly general case), with “Printmon Maker” (which tries to fit to a character skeleton, sometimes badly).
I’ve been looking at it a bit more… I still think something has changed and I do think it’s likely the texture that is different. I wish I’d kept some of my original models to compare one to one.
This could also be a case of “it’s different… I don’t like it!” and I will come around to the new style. It does still does a good job of the model itself.
It’s true that the model appears a bit smooth and shiny.
Personally, I haven’t found a way to export the model with the texture to check it in a 3D software.
was working good like 5 days ago… then i tried again to do new models and its now bad again… i remeber when i first tried it, it was horrible. i guess the ai is getting better over time
