I bought some eSUN PETG HS*. As many of you know eSUN provides the json files for their filament.
I downloaded them extracted the files, opened studio, went to file, import, import configuration , selected the json files and hit ok or save or whatever the button is.
However the new filament profile is not showing up in studio.
I’ve tried looking this up myself, but I’m at work right now so I don’t have a whole lot of time to dedicate looking at old, possibly outdated posts because as we all know, Bambu loves to update things and change how things are done.
I’m mostly certain this is either user error, or one of those Bambu things where you have to know the secret handshake but it’s a secret…so I am not privy to that information.
I don’t know the answer as I tried this myself after reading your post it but yeah could not find the new filament even though it said it imported.
Also what filament do you have exactly because esun does not make a petg HF, they make petg HS and CF but would be quite different.
Also I have had good luck with studio’s generic petg filament setting on different brands of petg, or just using bambu petg hf preset (if it is meant to print faster).
I went through the whole thing acouple of months back with American Filament, they provide filament profiles/presets also. Took me a while and I actually ended up with dupes because I did the copy procedure and then did the custom preset add.
I am LAN Only, always have been but my profiles are all under.
C:\Users\nopeeking\AppData\Roaming\BambuStudio\user\mynumbernotyours
and nothing under …\user\default
Trying to add a little clarity on my files.
So under \user######### I have folders \filament, \machine & \process
\machine has nothing in it.
\filament has a folder under it \base
\filament has files in it like: “0.12 mm Curved Walls Lithophane @P1S.json”, “Lithophane Maker PLA P1S.info” & “Lithophane Maker PLA P1S.json”, etc.
\Base has the nozzle files: “Lithophane Maker PLA Basic @Bambu Lab P1S 0.2 nozzle.info”, “Lithophane Maker PLA Basic @Bambu Lab P1S 0.2 nozzle.json”, etc.
\process also has .info & .json files in it for Chromaphane, curved wall, etc. SOME of the same files as under \filament but as I said, I caused duplicates and this may be part of that.
If I can confuse things further let me know.
There is a post “somewhere” I read on this and I think it said the same thing basically, that what should be a one step process has been turned into a multi step process (my words).
