I’ve had my X1 Carbon (with AMS) for a few weeks and love it, except for a few issues.
#1 - I can’t figure out how to disable the AMS and use the rear filament holder instead. I know the physical stuff I have to do, but when I remove the bowden tube from the AMS, and insert the filament from the rear spool, the extruder pulls the filament in just fine, and the display shows that it is “loaded”. The problem comes when I slice in Bambu Studio. I get an error that says that the sliced file is inconsistent with my printer. What does this mean? I can’t figure out how to tell the slicer to use the filament spool hanging on the back instead of the AMS.

Hi kb6kcp,
Two things just to be clear whether you are doing it or not.
Feed the filament to the rear tube connector only and not through the filament buffer.
Uncheck AMS box then you will be allowed to use the external spool
Also select the filament type for the external spool.
Filament on the spool holder
Keep us updated hope this helps you out

Hi 3Dtech:
Thanks for the quick reply,
Yes, I’m inserting the filament where you said.
I used the local “terminal” screen on the X1 Carbon to set what kind of filament I put on spool holder.
The black screen you pasted was what I was looking for. I just didn’t realize it was in the “Print plate” menu. Esp. since the printer was complaining about the printer being inconsistent with the slicer settings.
But I solved that too. I somehow managed to accidentally change my Printer type to a Bambu Lab P1P, lol. I changed it back to Bambu Lab X1 Carbon 0.4 nozzle, and now all is good.
Thank you!
