I’ve got some tecbears matte high speed filament coming and I’ll post the results next to the ones made with bambu side by side after drying and printing.
Thanks I’m curious to see how it comes out. I really like the shade of that orange.
for those like myself desperate for any type of petg I can tell you that even without drying (i decided to be naughty and not dry it–) the Jayo stuff prints perfectly.
Ignore the build plate crumbs; just leftover bits of the supports.

I am using Sunlu High Speed PETG filament with Bambu PETG HF Profile and it’s working great for me so far.
According to ChatGPT, Sunlu should be able to use the Bambu PETG HF profile. I bought some Sunlu and it’s working good.
It seems their S3 spools and refills are compatible with Bambu Labs also.
I got caught off guard by Bambu. I did not expect to need any but a job came in that I need about 8kg of black PETG and can’t get the Bambu stuff and looking around for petg I came across the matte version which would be ideal for the job. Does anyone here using the SUNLU PETG MATTE? I’ve ordered some colours for testing but I’m curious to see what others experience is.
Without modification a single item printed great, but printing a build plate full of items with travel between them was leaving gaps at the seams where they started.
I had to do some adjustment on retraction and deretraction as well as wipe on retraction but my Sunlu High Speed Matte PETG is printing like a dream now.
The rest of the profile is the stock Bambu PETG HF profile. I only made changes on the ‘Setting Overrides’ page.
Sunlu Matte PETG High Speed with the above profile.
The internal camera doesn’t do this justice. It looks great.
That is really interesting. I too had the gaps at the seams. Worst was Elegoo HS PETG, second worst IEMAI HS PETG, then came Sunlu and best was BAMBU HF.
I will retest Sunlu with your settings. Thank you for the hint!
I spent about 5 hours adjusting the settings and doing test prints.
I also had to dry the Sunlu filament - as it printed awful out of the vacuum bag.

Hi! PETG HF is currently out of stock across all channels due to some supply issues. Our supply chain is working to resolve the problem, and we expect it to be restocked in July or August. Thank you for your patience!
Thank you for the update. I am hoping for July! I don’t trust another brand.
I would buy a small 250g or 1kg spool of another brand and try it anyway.
Not because of Bambu but if it ever happens again you should have a good “feel” of how to handle the situation when stuff is less optimal.
Just when you think you have settled on a supplier & Filament, this happens. I’ve been through 100+ rolls of PETG-HF in the last 60 days … and have ironed out all the kinks printing.
Now I have to order 4 rolls of various brands, and start all over trying to find something close to Bambu’s PETG-HF …
Lots if ideas in this thread, but not seeing any clear standout replacements.
Appreciate everyones comments.
it is nobody’s fault except your own if you only have a singular source and don’t know what is or is not a viable alternative.
diversifying and getting things from multiple sources; or at the very least keeping an eye on potential alternatives will always be more successful in the end.
nobody died from having too much knowledge (this does not include philosophical scenarios/decision paralysis).
My order for sunlu petg matte in black arrived on Tuesday and after drying it for 16 hours and applying your retraction settings I must say I’m very happy with this filament so far. I’ve printed 3Dbenchy on my usual 0.12mm settings and it came out great. I’ll be printing some big parts over the weekend so I see how it does on larger items.
What on earth are you making, a coffin?
The closest replacement, in my own testing, is Overture’s PETG.
If you’re anywhere near the Indianapolis area I can give you a few hundred grams so you can do your own testing without spending any $.
Glad my settings helped. I spent way too long working on them, but was very happy with the results by the end.
