[in stock] PETG HF out of stock everywhere conspiracy theories anyone?

I have a business where I have engineered and print car parts (very unique specific ones) and have 10 P1S’s running near 24/7. I churn through Filament.

I appreciate that, but I’m in Canada. I’ll get my hands on some, along with the others ordered and give it a go.

That is better than a coffin.

Unless the coffin is also remote-controlled with a pop-up feature to freak others out.

Fantastic, I see they have a special offer on. Buy 4 refils and get a free Spool.

Yes I know,

I’m printing the tecbears matte petg filament and find that it very closely matches the bambu.

In each picture, the tecbears is on the left, the bambu on the right.

The red had the biggest color difference with the tecbears being a bit lighter

Price looks good too. I’ll have to try it out.

Gavin Newscum bought up all the PETG-HF to 3D print cheap new plastic homes. He just needs to finish burning up all the current homes that are in his way.

FYI:
Love Sunlu but I’ve noticed that their rolls are just a touch small causing them to drag on the bottom of the AMS, putting a minor strain on the AMS motors. I resolved this with a simple roll adapter and no longer get that dragging sound.

:grimacing: Sunlu also shows “out of stock” on ALL their PETG HS filaments.

Are there any info about PETG restocking?

last interaction I had with support was that it would be 1-2 months before it will be available.

It doesn’t surprise me that Sunlu is out of stock. They provide a lot of filaments for Microcenter also. I’m not sure if PETG is one of them and the guys at the store had not figured out exactly who they were being supplied by for their Inland filaments.

I switched to Elegoo Rapid PETG which is said to be the same as Bambu Lab.

I use the same settings and order 4-packs from Amazon. The only problem is the spool so I rewind to Bambu spools.

I’m keeping an eye on this. I really enjoy printing in PETG-HF and hope it comes back in stock soon.

I’m actually only printing with Sunlu PETG (the regular one on v2 spools) since a couple of months.
Not because i’m out of BL PETG-HF, but because it prints much faster, a bit stronger, cleaner and much cheaper.
But it’s more glossy than PETG-HF, some people like it - some doesn’t.

aliexpress has better prices and availability. you need to be careful of the store you buy from, if the price looks too good to be true and the store is an anonymous name/doesnt have reviews, skip it. I buy sunlu and jayo on aliexpress in 10kg packs and you can regularly get under $8/kg.

Also the new v3 sunlu spools are starting to be delivered, i got a 10 pack of hs matte that was 50-50 v2 and v3.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned that Creality sells bambu-style refills that fit perfectly on your Bambu empty spools. Amazon carries about a dozen colors, single rolls as low as $15 and 4-packs as low as $48. They print perfectly with Bambu PETG-HF settings on my A1. The only problem is that they’re much glossier and translucent (like basic PLA) instead of matte and opaque.

It’s July 14 and still petg is becoming more scarce.
All colors sold out at Sunlu and Bambu.

Sunlu

Bambu

I wonder what is going on to cause this shortage.

Is it Global Supply Chain?
PETG is a petrochemical derivative and I haven’t noticed any major oil shortage which leaves me looking for another explanation.

Problem is exacerbated by Bambu Labs because they haven’t given any proper explanation.

“The only problem is that they’re much glossier and translucent (like basic PLA) instead of matte and opaque.”

Thanks for the heads up. This is not a minor problem!

Looks like it’s going to be back in stock around mid-August!

While the US and Europe appear to be mid-August, it will take even longer for those of us in the UK.
