incomplete Printing? - what is happening with my p1s?
the last days until yesterday I printed this very nice poop tray with
drawers (1st pic).
No problems, everything was fine.
The I wanted to make those triangular reinforcements for an Ikea Kallax.
The 1st one done yesterday was perfect.
On the 2nd one, printed during the night, the last layer was missing (or
maybe the last two or three)
As it is mounted on the back I thought I maybe could use it anyways and
started printing the 1st part for the opposite side⦠it said it would
take 2 hours (as both of the other two parts), so meanwhile I took the
potty walk with my dog. On return the Bambu Studio said that printing
was finished.
But look at the last pic, it just stopped after some layers even it took the predicted 2 hours and said finished.
All Prints were done with 100% speed and the same filament. I have printed this very item before for some other shelves w/o problems.
At this time I try to print the last item again after calibrating the printer.
And again starts ok but it doesnāt print the upper layers, the head is moving and there is no filament coming out the nozzle.
Thank you for this hint. Thatās a good idea. A clogged nozzle would explain that the filament is not being transported through the head.
But as the printer started several times to print at least some layers (and even completed one small project) at first I didnāt think of that
My last try however printed absolutely nothing it was only moving the head around.
Could that be forced by a to wet filament? And the door has always been closed.
What I had changed in my setup is adding a 2nd AMS and putting the printer on that mentioned poop drawer thing I printed before perfectly.
Hello
What material is this? PLA? ABS?
If PLA, like mentioned, you should print with some sort of air moving thru print, either open printer door, or fan at decent level.
You could remove your nozzle and check for some debris blockage there - especially on the small puny fan out there, if this one not working, then heat breaker not working. And you can check extruder.
och⦠and check if filament isnāt tangled on the spool.
Tangled filament can be excluded, it happened with two different spools in two different AMS. The filament type is PLA and the fans are running. Btw I never had any problems like this even with closed door.
But thanks for your help.
I am having the same problem. Mine is 2 weeks old and I have printed multiple things with no issues. No it canāt print anything. I have folowed all the unclog methods, even replaced the Hotend with the spare that came with the printer. Still not working. I have the top open to try air flow, nothing. It can extrude just fine but as soon as it prints the first test line on the hot bed it starts to fails and not even 30 seconds nothing is coming out at all!
Hi,
itās me againā¦
I did a āfull serviceā this morning.
1st step
removed the head cover and the ptf hose directly at the head.
heated the machine and pushed a short piece of filament into the opening until I saw this color coming out of the nozzle.
Didnāt look clogged, mounted the ptf hose and the front cover again.
2nd step
I removed the hose coming from the buffer at the location where its connected to the printer and started a print job using color #1 from ams #2.
The (white PLA) filament was transported and came out of the hose then it stopped because the system recognised there was no filament in the head.
3rd step
meanwhile I had read on the display that the z-axis needed lube⦠ok?
I cleaned all three spindles and added one small package of grease to those.
Moved the table up and down several times and started printing a small funnel to refill my desicant boxes within the ams.
The print worked fine.
Now a further print is running, the Kallax reinforcement things using spool #1 from ams #1.
aaaaand⦠after 9 layers the ams tried and tried and tried but the filament did not go into the head⦠I also noticed loose strings of filament on the surface which had not meted to the underneath layer.
after repeating the dismount cover, remove-hoseāheat-up-and-load-filament-by-hand-cermony (that worked - no clogging) I decide it has to do with the material I used.
A brandnew pack of Sunlu high speed PLA (4pieces) delivered last week. The first spool unpacked printed well, so why t⦠f⦠this one doesnāt?
OK get a new one⦠do you know I hate to wait another hour for a first result?
And why did the white (elegoo PLA) print well today but not yesterday?
Oh maybe yesterday the head was clogged by the sunlu and therfore the elegoo didnā work.
So for now, the Sunlu spool lies in the BACKOFEN at 48 degrees (Celsius Iām in Germany) for the next 2 hours or maybe longer.
Letās see how a new freshly unsealed Sunlu spool will workā¦
and it failed.
for now Iām absolutely clueless. Maybe I willdisconnect the AMS systems and try to print from the side spool holder
Next chapter in this (hopefully NOT) neverending story.
Printing from the side spool holder without ams seems to work.
So my next action will be to move the printer and the ams stack to a table, where I can observe what is happening on the backside.
As I mentioned I recently added a 2nd ams and therefore I needed another buffer to connect both ams.
After all itās strange, that my first prints with both ams connected went very well and suddenly it didnāt work out anymore.
Btw, the filament I use this time is the one that at first started the problems but I had it dried for 3 hours in the Backofen.
My Slicer is saying that my object has many overhangs as it has many holes in it. But when I went back to check my design, It was all ok. I even tried with my Prusa slicer and it was fine. What is the problem?
There was no solution for my problem. But it doesnāt matter because everything is working now.
So what happened?
I separated my printer and the ams stack, removed it from the shelf and connected everything again on a table.
Somehow it worked perfectly. Now disassemble and remount at the destination shelf. Still working. Donāt know why. Sorry.
