I am a new owner of the P1S +AMS and want to print ABS in grey; this is already for some time not available from Bambu, so I reverted to another major supplier, being eSun who are offering their ABS+ at reasonable rates and availability. I searched the eSun site and find their recommendations for Bambu P1S in a .json file which is some 178 lines long; I do not fancy to enter all this data manually into Studio. I now wonder if this can be loaded somewhere.
I find there is a possible way, but I find no help in the Wiki.
In Studio, I looked at (far left top corner): File> Import>Import config, and there you can import >config.json But in that case I would have to rename the eSum file…
Is that the way? I do not know, and do not dare to try…
advise please!
Thank you
This will help you get started but the best thing is to do calibration testing.
Note that the parameters by eSUN for P1P are without enclosure.
For that reason maybe the X1 parameters are more suitable.
Just want to share how I managed in an other case.
Used this list for the eSUN PETG but was not succsful for the P1S build plate adheision and overhang. Had succes with the Generic PETG when adjusted the build plate and nozzle temps as recommenend on the spool by eSun.
Just import all the json files for P1P or P1S and you’ll have filament profiles and printing parameter files to choose from in the drop-down menus. e.g. for ABS+, choose eSun ABS+ in the filament selection and eSun ABS+ for the print profile. The default is 0.20mm layer heights but you can simply change the value in the layer height boxes to 0.12 or 0.16 etc.
I have done some flow calibration tests and the profiles are pretty spot on.
I had also sent a message to the eSUN site, and requested the required info for my machine, and received after the weekend a message with 2 files attached, which I entered in the “import” area, and all went pretty automatic; the eSUN ABS+ data was then available for the printer, but with every print I make, I must reconfirm the selection, as it is marked as an unknown filament; just confirm and all goes ahead.
Thanks for your assistance.
Just import each individual json file required for the P1S into Studio via File > File>Import>Import Configs
Should look something like this when imported into your slicer. There are json files for the filaments and the process
I came across another issue I think!
I changed to a 0.2mm nozzle from the standard 0.4 and tried to import the eSUN filament settings across to the new nozzle.
I have all the settings imported for the 0.4mm nozzle but when you change it to a 0.2mm in studio all those settings in the process and filament dropdowns have disappeared.
I then tried re-importing when the 0.2mm nozzle was selected in Studio but it just says that it already exists and I cannot add the filament and process settings at all to the dropdowns for the 0.2mm. Any ideas?
If you use notepad to look at the profiles, you will see some of them don’t list all printers or nozzle sizes. This means when the slicer does it’s check for printer type, if yours isn’t in the list you won’t be able to see the profile. You can check this by adding an X1C (if yours is a P1P or S) and then the profile you imported can be selected. You can add your printer and nozzle size by editing the json files in notepad and you will then be able to import it and the profile will appear for your printer/nozzle setup.
Thankyou. I actually thought I might have to do that as I was writing the post.
Yep, just add in “Bambu Lab P1S 0.2 nozzle” where the other ones are (compatible printers). Make sure you add the comma at the end. Then save as all files and add .json after the profile name and it will save as a .json file.
