Insufficient Memory

heya folks,

getting this error: “HMS_0C00-0300-0002-0018: Insufficient system memory detected, causing the foreign object detection function to fail. The issue can potentially be improved by restarting the printer after the task is completed or by upgrading to the latest firmware.” every ~12 hours on my h2d. at first a reset would get rid of it but now it just keeps coming back. everything latest firmware etc. any thoughts?

My first step would be a power cycle, my next step would be a factory reset of the printer, if that doesn’t work honestly the only next step is a ticket with logs.

Edit: you said reset but did you power cycle? I’d test both before the ticket

done, done and done before this post. i powercycle daily atm

i confirm never had that before (2000 hours of print) and now i keep getting this error or unknown errors related to memory and foreign objects.

at the begininng it was once a day, now its at each print even with restart

i was planning to submit a ticket about that…

Support got back to me, max 30 prints on usb stick. i had already taken out my usb and havent seen it back yet. just formatted my sdcard (512 GB sandisk) so will see how it goes. surprised how much data the sdcard collected, was like 200GB that i put on my nas

I dont get the link between the USB stick and the internal memory to make ai foreign object detection.

This seems a strange answer. Tell us if it effectively correct the issue

so you confirm a correlation between internal memory and external USB?

ive only done 2 prints since and havent seen it back yet. i wiped my usb stick, also did a factory reset before removing the sd card then wiping.

If this is the case bambu should improve the firmware, and make the prints saved on the usb stick (when save prints on usb is enbaled) to roll over the amount needed.

because in fact the printer itself is fulling the model files on each print…

on my side i did too cleaned the history model from the usb stick and it seems that for now the problem disapeared. I was at a point where it was sytematic

there is something stragne as the printer can use foreing object detection event without an usb stick why would a stick with lots of files created by the printer itself finish by causing errors.

something strange in the firmware is happening

The full length videos take up a lot of room. You can disable video and it should last much longer.

So.. just adding to this thread as I have the same insufficient memory error but with no external USB. I deleted models from the internal storage and restarted but the error has popped up again.. anyone have any suggestions? Surely a firmware update can solve this one..
