Intermittent AP/MC/Camera malfunction on power up

Got 3 errors after turning on the printer (had it off for a month):

  • AP Board malfunction
  • MC module malfunction
  • USB Camera not connected

Restarted the printer a couple of times and the errors cleared, printer is now fully functioning.

I have had the “USB Camera not connected” error once or twice before and it went away after restart. The MC/AP errors are new though.

Any clues as to what’s going on?

Try downgrading your firmware to the previous version. See if these errors still show up. If not, then it’s the latest firmware you’ve installed. It it still does, your best bet is putting in a support ticket to Bambu.

Before openning a support ticke take photos of the screen on every error and save the logs each time.
This will help you with the support staff.

Update in case anyone’s experiencing the same:

The issue got worse until eventually I wasn’t able to print at all, nozzle/bed temps were showing 0, and I was unable to control movement. I replaced the MC board and MC-AP cabling, which did not fix it. Replacing the AP board fixed it. AP boards are unfortunately not available to buy from Bambu Store. You will have to contact Bambu Support to get a replacement board and activate the new SN. For reference, they charged me ~£110 for a new AP board.
