Hello everyone.
I just noticed a difference in print quality depending on the location of the pieces on the plate !
When facing the printer, the pieces on the right are less detailed.
At first I thought it was because of the orientation of the parts so I printed them in both directions, but the parts on the right are ugly. (or at least, less detailed)
Does anyone have an idea what can be the problem ?
My best guess is that this is due to temperature fluctuations within the priner. The part on the left is closer to the aux fan, so this might be an explanation. You can test this by forcing the aux fan off, depending on the material you use. Just take care not to clog the nozzle.
A fix for this could be to decrease print temperature with 5 ÂșC. It looks to me like youâre running too high a temperature - and the aux fan remedies this somewhat as it aids the cooling of the part during printing. But objects further away from the aux fan donât benefit from this.
Running too hot can also cause clogs, but on the other hand, higher temperatures are often required to run at faster speeds. For things like this though, my guess is that you donât go much over 300 mm/s print speed, so you donât exactly need to run hotter than necessary.
You can even test this without changing the filament settings:
When the print has started and the aux fan turns on, you can just disable it again on the display.
Anyway, if you change any settings, the change is only temporary unless you save them. The default profiles from Bambu are write protected, so you have no chance to mess up any settings that you canât revert to.
I hadnât looked into your actual fotos yet. Your problem are the slightly jagged edges?
I donât think that has to do anything with the aux fan. That typically would impact overhangs and bridges but not flat lines.
I would suspect the build plate surface being slightly contaminated. Have you cleaned it before use? Wipe it with warm water and dish cleaner (is that the right term? engl is not my mother tongue). It should have no additives like oil or similar for being gentle to your hands. In the US there is one brand known to work very good. Maybe somebody can help out with the name?
I hope that will solve your issue. Watch the first layer being printed. You should spot any failures immediately.
