Hi guys, is there an option to start the ironing only at a certain layer? Im doing a vase and i need to do ironing only for the last 10 layers because are the layers that will be visible but they are ‘internal’. Is there an option for this? Thanks
No, you can’t iron multiple layers. The ironing can be done to the Top Most layer or All Top layers as in the stepped example in this Wiki. Is the top of your vase on an angle or rounded? If rounded, you could use the Variable Layer option to smooth the upper radius.
You can use a modifier object to control which layers are ironed or not
Thanks that helped me a lot
Hi - was wondering if you couuld elaborate on this some? I’ll run some searches, but haven’t figured it out so far.
I have parts that I would like to iron only to the top 3 layers - really only the top layer of some text that protrudes 2 layers/.4mm from my top surface, and also the top surface that the text is protruding from, but not any other top surfaces of the model, which quadruples the print time. Thanks!
I know it’s late but just in case you were still wondering, I went ahead to my object, selected add height modifier, then after specifying the height range you do want ironing, just select all top surfaces! Helped me when I wanted to make some bin and iron only the lips and handles instead of the base of the box too
