The build plates on the X1C are sometimes a pain to install, Is anyone aware of a mod for some backstops? or a different locator system altogether?
I have searched the usual places but have drawn a blank.
You checked MakerWorld? I have used the Shifty one and it seem to help locate the plate.

I did try Makerworld, although I now realise my search term was not correct, I was searching for backstops.
How difficult was it to install the part?

I installed the Shifty on the left side only and it makes plate alignment much easier. It snaps in place so easy install too.

I have exactly the same model installed on my printer and it works great for me.
You only need one one the left side. The creator writes, you only need the one on the left side, but some people created models for the right side anyway, what is not needed.
Easy print and as byMH62 wrote, it snaps in place.
Just recently became the proud owner of The Shifty, I put it off for a while because I generally don’t slap mods everywhere.
