Is having two accounts allowed?

Hi @MakerWorld @SupportAssistant

I’ve been noticing there are multiple instances with users with two different accounts on makerworld, is this now allowed? I was under the impression it wasn’t but I might be wrong

I can understand and it can make sense for two very different styles of designs to have separate accounts, but want to understand if this is indeed a possibility

I join the question, also would like to know if it’s allowed.

Those are rookie numbers  I once came across someone who probably has 6 accounts, maybe more. And there were not two different styles of designs but AI generated models.

If you’re not doing anything suspect like using them to farm boosts for each other then its probably perfectly fine

You might want two if you want to upload something but distance your other account for it, or for example a “business” and “personal” account

The issues start if you’re trying to circumvent something or exploit something

i don’t see any point of having two account whether for cheating or legit work, both ways only you need 1 account to have all the focus on.
followers, points, uploads, popularity what make a profile worth having and working on, other than that is just a waste of servers space.

Then why not have an account for models that might split your viewership? Some just mute NSFW accounts, political accounts, etc, even if they have G-rated or other content. Allowing multiple accounts would actually allow for greater engagement and more downloads/followers, etc.

Hi h3li0, thanks for asking.
As long as the accounts are uploading different models, not identical ones, we don’t see a huge issue with this behavior.
Like you said, some of our creators have expertise in different genres of model styles and would like to differentiate in the accounts they upload with. We believe it is a reasonable need.
If you come across any potential foul plays, don’t hesitate to inform us!
Thank you very much for your support!

Then I expect you to uphold this. If I recall correctly you have posted things and then done the opposite, so lets hope this isn’t one of those.

Because I need a personal and business account and still trying to figure it out. I want to “play” in my personal account, but I need a business to have its own identity and post only files for users who need cases and accessories for that business’s products. And when I sell the company, I want to just give the account name and password to that new company and not have it intertwined with my personal stuff. People need to search for @mycompany and not @myPersonalName. I collect things for me personally and upload nothing. The business uploads cases, accessories, etc. People need to find that company on Thingiverse, here, and maybe whatever else is the most popular 3D print download site at the moment. It is like saying “I don’t see why Microsoft needs its own account, they can just use Bill Gate’s account”.

Yeah not sure you read my post, i agreed with using a business and personal account

Although giving the account away is likely not allowed under the terms of service, you would have to go give it a read to confirm it, but selling. trading or sharing accounts is generally not permitted as the accounts all ultimately remain the property of the service provider, in this case bambu
