Read some post somewhere about a user stating Bambu customer support told him a Y axis bearing is non replaceable and if one of them fails this means the printer is unserviceable.
Is this correct?

I haven’t heard anything related to your question, but should the bearing fail at some point in the future, I doubt you couldn’t find on the open market to buy a replacement bearing with the same dimensions and characteristics. After all, Bambu doesn’t manufacture itself these bearings, it purchases them from some manufacturer or another, and to keep costs low, most likely it’s a Chinese manufacturer who provides them to Bambu. So, having measured the respective bearing and written down the identification or part number, I would head straight to AliExpress and start looking for a replacement. I very much doubt you wouldn’t find what you’re looking for.
On an X1/P1 there are 4 non-replaceable pulleys/bearings.
Its not the sourcing of the parts that is the problem, from what I understand the linear rods are glued to the frame and cannot be disassembled.
Again, what’s glued could be unglued. What would pose real problems would be that instead of being glued, it’s soldered or even welded. In such case, one would have to replace the entire set: the rods and the bering…and that’s a spare not made available on Bambu’s shop. Could happen that it might be purchased from aftermarket manufacturers, but honestly, haven’t seen anything similar on AliExpress or similar.
You should have had run for the US presidency. You would have been a really good fit too: at the right time, speaking much without saying anything worth remembering, or making any god damn sense… Definitely you would have had nailed all those undecided voters from the swing states…
The bearing itself is a pretty commonly used bearing that can be sourced fairly easily. It sucks that they cannot be removed, because it could be a very simple fix if one were to go bad.
We need more attention to these huge design flaws. Literally all X1 and P1 printers around the globe are self-destructive. It’s a matter of months before a 1 dollar part that is designed to wear and break, breaks and make the printer unserviceable.
All people saying otherwise are naive and will learn the hard way soon enough.
The latest communication from BambuLab on this issue was on the 8th of October 2024 via X. Saying in December 2024 a 8 hour long replacement manual will be released and as an alternative solution: a whopping expensive whole CoreXY Motion System that takes 2 hours to replace.
it may have been on Facebook, but someone recently received one of those new core XY motion systems. They seemed to be the very first one. As of right now, it seems you need to contact CS in order to get one if needed.
