That’s a 42 minute difference, not an 82 minute difference. So yes, slower on your testing but it’s not an hour and 21 minutes slower as you indicated. I’m assuming you know how time works, and deleting one time from the other is not the way “1321 - 12:39 = 82”

Also don’t want to be “that guy”, and I get what JGrimm is saying, but I feel it is very prescient to point out:
801 mins vs 759 mins is a 6% increase in time (5.55% if getting specific)
…about 6% time added while the quality and featureset objectively improves

I’m an unapologetic quality-and-reliability-seeker, time for a machine doesn’t exist, just use “the magic of getting two of them” if your squishy human meat isn’t willing to wait. You have an ocean to cross if you want FDM to catch other mfr techniques in speed.
I am really surprised that multi color printing wasn’t faster. In fact it makes no sense. Even if single color printing was slow, if you are cutting the swaps in half and the swaps themselves are supposedly faster, something just doesn’t add up.
I see nothing wrong with someone wanting to print faster.
I’m not at all surprised that when a machine is first released its print profiles are tuned toward guaranteed success rather than for speed. It looks better in reviews than failed prints at higher speeds.
Hah I knew someone was going to correct me on that. I had a feeling it was wrong. Ok its about 40m difference not 82. I subtracted without turning it to hours good catch. Hah. Still slower but less than
I’ve been using mostly default profiles. The only things I change is infill settings/types, supports, initial layer size, etc. I just keep hoping I am wrong somewhere about it being slower on most multicolor prints with low color swaps.
You know something strange is that when youtubers got their machines it had a 46m benchy on it and a speed race benchy. When I got my machine it only had the speed race benchy about 23m time.
Especially lately, I notice that the youtubers do zero tweaking of the print profiles. Not even calibration. It’s unbox and immediately launch, cameras rolling, with whatever half used spool of filament is close at hand. So given that debut environment, it wouldn’t surprise me if the profiles are dumbed down to make them more resilient against that kind of usage. Otherwise, the manufacturer risks egg on their face.
