Is the A1 Noisy, or is it just mine?

I have an A1 and an A1 mini. Let me start by saying that i love how they work.
60% of the time they work every time.
Now, A1 mini had some issues printing, some fails, mostly on my part but some of them just random half way through printing.
The A1 has none of that, its usually straight forward. Don’t think i had any issues which weren’t my fault.

What actually interests me to find out is if the A1 is loud by default.

After calibrating my heatbed on the A1 mini, it literally floats, rarely hear the motors, mostly the fans, and moves like a feather.
Not the same thing to say about the A1. Also had to calibrate the heatbed due to an incident involving a Sunlu spool and (i strongly believe) a poor designed AMS lite Mod by Bambu Lab for the said A1. Basically, it unscrewed itself from the holder and fell on the bed.
Now, i honestly think i did a good job tramming the bed on both, but the noise difference is huge.
The A1 mini floats while the A1 is grinding.

Is this a me case or an everyone case?

I have both, with the A1 being one month older than the A1 Mini, and the Mini is considerably less noisy.

Is it this loud tho?

A1mini vs A1

True, they are not printing the same parts but still…

Yeah, I think that is difference is that they are making different parts. I don’t think either of those two prints are very loud.

I notice the difference when they are doing the same thing, especially during that 5 minute test before it starts printing. I think the bed is a lot quieter on the Mini, but that probably has a lot, if not all, to do with the size difference.

To me, the second one sounded wrong.

Unless that noise came from the contact of the shiny material, it sounded like it came from the movement of the build-plate back and forward.

It’s worth noting only one of my ears works and that one isn’t great.

You are absolutely right, it doesnt come in contact with material, it usually when going in circles.

It feels like it’s struggling

It’s more of a “a loaded AMS fell on the heatbed” case.
That A1 does not sound right, it sounds damaged.

A working A1 is noiser than the A1 Mini, but the sound you are hearing from the A1 is not normal.

It was just a roll maybe 0.8kg, but still…

Thats exactly what im asking… the funny thing is, it prints flawlessly.

So, what can i do about it? What should i check for?

It’s something to do with printing small circles. My A1 does the same, maybe not as extreme as yours, but its definitely louder when printing small circles. I did try to look into it online and the result was something to do with polygons or something in the model - didn’t quite get it, but Bambu came back and stated it was normal.

My Prusa MK4s doesn’t do that though - that runs much quieter than the A1.

Yeah, turns out its “Arc fitting

I was afraid that is damage? But its ok :face_holding_back_tears:

Yes I thought my printer had an issue as well the first time I heard it!
As I said, my Prusa doesn’t seem to do this at all - must be something to do with just BambuLab printers…

Noisier than expect, but not nearly as noisy as some. I barely hear it behind a closed door.
