Is there a reason why I'm suddenly getting ripples in my print?

  • Detailed description of the problem
Half way working today, I noticed artifacts appearing in my prints. I recalibrated the A1 but the ‘ripples’ still appear?
  • Printer model used
    A1
  • Slicer settings used
I’m using a .4mm nozzle with a profile provided by Overture.
  • Type of filament used
    Overture silk pla gold
  • Photos that clearly show the problem
The objects on the left were printed after lunch. The ones on the right were printed before lunch.

  • Any potentially useful information that is related to the problem

Some obvious things to consider or rule out.

  • Your filament may require drying. This can happen even after periods of good quality.
  • Has the printer moved at all? You may be experiencing more motion during printing.
  • Have you lubricated the y-axis recently?
  • Have you tried a different filament?
  • Is the filament spool catching in the edges as it is being rotated?

Maybe too many carbs at lunch?

Could be a partial nozzle clog, try switching up the nozzle…or manually purge the hell out of it.

Did anything change between before and after lunch? Temperature in the room, humidity? Maybe a fan was activated? Was there a filament change between before/after?
