Interested in making custom lightboxes, but have no idea where to begin.
Did you ever get a reply or find a good way of doing it?
How about starting from the basic steps: such as determining the dimensions, the type of model, what types and color of filaments…
Here are a few examples…
How can add extra white layer to keep the bottom layers together without falling apart.I tried with aranche wall it helps a bit but not enough
Easiest option… Google it… usually you get your answer
Added white layers really help hold designs together. They add strength and help to provide more even illumination. Printed inside the lightbox backs, they remove the need to glue aluminum foil or use foil tape to create a reflector.
I always include diffusers and reflectors in my lightboxes. I use s standard 0.2mm layer height and use 0.6mm thickness lens layers (three) for the design itself and two layers (0.4mm) for reflectors and diffusers.
I use Fusion for my designing and to make the reflector just extrude the inside of the back into a new component. You save them out the same way you save the other parts and load them into Studio as a single object with multiple parts.
Diffusers on the lens are the same but a little more tedious. Instead of just grabbing the inside of the back to extrude, I have to select all the different lens parts/details together to extrude those as a diffuser as a separate component and save out of Fusion and load into Studio as one part with multiple subparts.
It’s really just a little extra work but makes lightboxes much stronger and easier to set up. One of the first things I printed with my Bambu were lightboxes for the nighbor kids. They loved them, hugged them tight, and broke out the designs because the lens elements were only held to each other on their edges. Plus even without breaking out the designs, you can still see really tiny gaps and spaces between lens elements without the diffuser.
