Is this cheating?

It seems strange to see all those models with nearly the same number of likes and downloads.

What do you think? By the way, I really dislike this kind of approach — why not just put them all in a single model?

I think there should be some regulation for this.

That’s same model, should be in profiles of the same model.

I really don’t like this way of being clever, moreover they are all assigned as exclusive models. @Makerworld should intervene, the purpose is obvious

Idk. But more importantly, what’s that bar underneath each model. Browser extension?

Yep this one https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/an-unofficial-makerworld/pkpnnfiegdfdidhbhnecpbnmlgekanbl?pli=1

It should all be 1 model & profile.
As for the download & likes…I assume if you download 1 of them you would download all of them to have a complete collection.

Well… they don’t have the exact same amount. But those should absolutely be combined into one submission.

There is guideline for this. The first 5 in your screenshot should be one submission. They can be on 5 different plates, or the variations can be presented as 5 different print profiles.

Also note that all the models on your screenshot have the Exclusive Program icon. I think this is to grab some quick points while the program is early in the pilot phase and penalties are not assessed.

Ha. I was going to post about this last night but fell asleep

Took a screenshot, 50ish likes, 50ish downloads, no makes, all could be the same profile on a different plate

I thought there was a rule being pushed through in October that meant you weren’t supposed to have lots of profiles of the same or recolored items, clearly whole separate uploads is the same?

This approach is just a way for someone to get 5x the points for that first 50 or so downloads (if they are legit at all)

There are people with hundreds of virtually the same item but an entirely different upload. I get it if the model is strikingly different but this ain’t it chief

Well there is but MW has been shown to selectively enforce it’s own rules so…

Wait until you come across models with V1, v2, v2.1, v2.2, v3 and so on… small changes… new upload. If a user sees a version 2 why would it go and download version 1? Why not put them all under the same model, different profiles named accordingly?

Nah…let’s upload for the points. And the point rewards are what are killing makerworld. I though it was a good idea but now i wonder…

Yes. Yes it is.

yeah im aware, it especially annoys me in contests though because contests offer extra optics,

winning a contest not only nets you a prize (quite a large one too) but your downloads/makes/etc will 5x in a week

If you thought that amount of print profiles was over the top. :eyes:

Damn I missed out the short time expiry for getting my Generic User name. Got to admit nesting them like this is preferred than 254 Models out there in the wild

SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! don’t let them know, otherwise they will upload them all separately.

I think this is (sort of) the right way to do it?

Yeah they could do a customiser but they might not be skilled in openscad

It’s a lot of profiles no doubt but at least it’s not just flooding the uploads with the same or similar stuff

Well if there is a limit on the amount of profiles he’ll find it.

Think that’s the right way to do it.

I reported these last night and another set of Uno cards the guy has.

I was not aware of this thread at the time.

This was the point I made to MW.

I always add each reported model to a private category to monitor MW’s response. After checking this morning, all 5 poker chips had gone, and all 15 Uno cards had also left the building.

It seems user was completely banned. :wave:t3:

A reminder for who was thinking about doing 25 slightly different Christmas balls models for the upcoming contest.
