Issue at the beginning of every print

Hi everyone,

Since a few days I started having issues with my prints. Seems like the very beginning of every print is having an issue. The issue is gone after a few second of printing and the rest is printed fine. You can see the issue in the picture.
Before everything was printing fine.

I print as a hobby and have my printer for about 3 months. Have you ever had such an issue? What is causing it?

Kind regards,
Mateusz

Is it just this model or other models as well? Is the defect always in the same spot?

Looks like a fingerprint at first, if its always the same spot on the plate I’d suggest a good scrub of the plate in sink of hot soapy (basic Dawn type) water. If its still there it may be a silicone or similar spot and they are hard to remove. I have one plate that always does this and I’ve resigned myself to avoiding prints on that area.

Hi,

Thank for the help.
I cleaned the plate with some vodka and printed first two layers to test. The print is fine now. So it seems the issue is solved.

Kind regards,
Mateusz

I dont understand. It takes longer to start a new thread than washing the print plate. Something you ALWAYS do when it doesn’t stick. Its like “did you restart the computer”

I did wash the print plate with dishwashing soap. It did not help.
And since I’m new to the 3D printing (printed maybe 5 times so far) I started to look for another reason - hence the question on the forum, which is what this forum is for, isn’t it?

Kind regards,
Mateusz
