New 3D printer person here. Bambu P1S
I am trying to print a rectangular lithophane, aprox 87 x 107 x 4 mm.
I have printed several of these before and when I bring them into BS or Orca they they stand up on the long (107) edge vertically, then I add a brim and print.
This time (all is same for BS & Orca) the STLs (CMYK litho, combined as one object) create the object laying down flat. I want to stand it up on the long edge. All the tutorials I have looked at show useing auto-orient or lay on face. Auto orient only brings it up to 45 degrees and rotates it in any direction other than vertical, perpendicular to build plate. Lay on face also seems to just rotate it around flat on the plate. Rotate does not work for what I want either. What am I missing?
Why won’t rotate work? If you send me the file I can do it for you.
Thanks, figured it out. Had to view the plate from the side to get the object to rotate in direction I wanted. I was thinking it was like other (non-slicer) software I have used where you can grab an edge and manipulate in 3D directions rather than just in a 2D direction.
