Issues when the print start with Bed in the bottom

Hi!

I noticed this issue recently, and finally mapped why it happens.

If a print that is very high finishes, the bed is lowered all the way to the bottom when the job finishes, so far so good.
The problem is when I start the new print. When I start it, the printer tries to bring the bed further down, and starts to make an awful noise, that is the belt jumping on the stepper motor. This is destroying the belt!

If before starting a new print, I home the printer, this doesn’t happen anymore.
I initially thought it could be some sensor not working, but it’s not the case.
If I manually move the bed in the control screen, it stops in the bottom and doesn’t attempt to go further.

So this looks like some FW issue that in the beginning of the print doesn’t read the sensor and tries to move the bed beyond it’s limits.

Anyone else noticed this issue?
I’ve the latest FW installed (non beta).

Thanks.

Hi!

The exact same thing happened to me last time, the tall thing printed, another print and then it came. There was also some message that sensor wasn’t working, I forgot to take a picture of it… I turned the power off and on and it disappeared. I haven’t printed anything tall since then, but thanks for the tip that you need to home before printing.

Are you on the latest firmware?

I’ll stay on 01.08.02.00 for now.

I’ve the latest printer asked to update non beta, 1.8.5.0
