Issues with P1S and Panda Touch Screen

I purchased a Panda Touch to upgrade the screen and it worked for a little while, but all of a suddedn the last couple months the Panda Touch screen keeps power cycling on and off for some reason.
I have to disconnect and reconnect, but now its doing it all the time. I had a temp fix for awhile where I would put it to run on battery, but now that doesn’t even work…does anyone have a solution for this or is my device just faulty?
Anyone help would be much appreciated.

I went through the same thing and it turned out that the built in USB doesn’t give it enough power. Plug it in to an external USB charger and that should fix it.

Welcome to the forum.

If powering the Panda Touch form a seperate power source doesn’t solve your issue I suggest you contact BQ’s Technical support regarding this problem.

Just out of curiosity, what is the current status of the cooperation between Panda Touch and P1S (with the new firmware)? When I was planning to buy my P1S, I seriously considered PT Screen, but then I read that it doesn’t work with the new Bambu’s firmware (except perhaps in LAN/Dev mode).

However, it was written that Panda would respond – they are (hopefully) preparing some kind of firmware update that should fix this issue … ad both devices should cooperate again. But I don’t know what the current status is. Thanks in advance for the info.

The Touch will work with any firmware before 01.08.02.00. I think it will work with the newer firmwares if you are using LAN/Developer mode, but I haven’t tried so I’m not 100% positive.

When Bambu first announced the “authorization control” BIQU put out a statement that basically made it sound like they never really got official permission to make the Touch. I don’t think BIQU will be able to put out firmware that will fix the issue with the locked down firmware from Bambu. If it works in developer mode that might be the best you can do.

Thanks for clarifying that. So I’ll never get a suitable screen for my P1S, which is a shame :-/ I can live with the current one, but it’s not exactly fun or exciting…
The P1S deserves more love from Bambu. I honestly don’t understand why they don’t offer a paid upgrade for the P1S in the form of a better screen… I wouldn’t hesitate for a minute, and I probably wouldn’t be alone. Unfortunately, older firmware is not a solution for me (AMS Pro), and LAN mode doesn’t seem like a very comfortable solution.

Agreed. I wish Bambu had put out their own version of several of the products that BIQU made.

One solution people use for the P1P/S is to mount a phone or tablet you aren’t using on or by the printer with the Handy app on it.
