Hey everyone.
Have you been getting hit with this heatwave? It’s been cooling down a bit for the weekend, and I’m excited to get some things made. What are you making this weekend?!
I’m 3d printing more hardware/screw cases. MORE I SAY! I’m up to like 72 of these things, and still need more to store all my various bits of hardware
I guess the next challenge is, how much different hardware could I pack into one design?! Oh, they’ll hate me. I get enough complaints about hardware usage.

95 f is average here where i live. And thats with 80+ humidity. We are not in a heat wave. Its just called summer.
We are just starting to print new Halloween props for our front yard display. Then Christmas won’t be long after those prints.
I will post some pics once I get them finished.
Happy printing!

Coming very soon, simple, fun, loud.
[Update]
Abandoned. I couldn’t get it to be as good as I wanted and I had gone through far too many prototypes for such a long and big print,
I have been printing mostly spaghetti this week…
Tried the hot water with Dawn dish soap (textured PEI plate). Thought it was working, but the print broke free right before finish, ruining it…
I am trying the “Magic Eraser” tip now (couldn’t find steel wool in the house). So we will see how this print goes…
Material? Bed temperature? Could the Aux fan be coming on near the end of the print and cooling the part down?
Generic PLA settings. The same settings I have been using forever. The plate just stopped holding the prints all of a sudden.
Assuming you tried both sides? Printing with a brim?
Yeah, tried both sides and printing with a brim. Even increased the size of the brim.
I will know in about hour if the Magic Eraser made any difference.
I will also note that the last time this happened I just flipped the plate and kept printing… This time I am trying to restore both sides. If the magic eraser works, I will use it on the other side also.
If not, I will be hunting down some steel wool.
A new Green “scrubby” pad would probably have a similar result if you have that on hand.

Wow, magic eraser did the trick!
It printed without issues and I even had to work a bit to get it off the plate (would probably have been easier if I waited for it to cool.)

Haha, had a big response I forgot to hit reply on, and that was one of my key points. I think the magic eraser does something similar, in that it’s rough is a little more aggressive
I will do a wash/clean down in alcohol first, then wash with dawn soap and all of that. I have a clean sponge with the green rough side set aside specifically for cleaning plates.
For PLA though, anymore, I just favor the smooth PEI plates.

The magic eraser isn’t really that rough. All it really is is a melamine sponge.
It does state that it is useful for removing/dissolving oil without chemicals (interesting). So that is probably why it works so well on a build plate?
It states, “Scratch free, only water is needed!”
And it certainly worked. I am keeping one of these near my build plates from now on.

No heavy weather, it’s beautiful out!
I bought some anycubic PETG, it prints fine but I don’t like how glossy it is and the red does not ‘pop’. Found a good use for it, in preparation for my Christmas tree layout.
Got all printers involved
The last one is Bambu PLA basic, which is the color I was hoping the anycubic would be
