Just screwdrivers - single and multi-bit

Yes, a thread dedicated to 3D printable screwdrivers.

Here we thrive for designs that try to achieve specific purposes and want push the limits. Think of it as a never ending challenge to create the best of its kind.
May it be the smallest, prettiest, the one with the highest bit storage capacity, having the highest failure torque, … you name it, the community judges.

Guessing the rules for designers as follows:

  • It must be your own design, a derivative of an already accessible generator is a no go
  • Refference bit is a 1/4" = 6.35mm, 4mm is optional
  • Reference nozzle is 0.4mm, 0.2mm is optional
  • Your design must be “better” in a quantifiable category, trumping previous designs (example: be dimensionally smaller in gross building volume [mm³] than previous designs)
  • A torque of 0.6 Nm ≈ 5.3 in·lbf between thumb and index finger must be transferable before the fingers (of a real 200 pound workshop gorilla?) slip or the printed driver breaks

If you are not into designing screwdrivers, but see deficiencies in existing models, tell us what you would love to screw around with

Finally my time to shine haha

This was my best one:

Are you going to develop that design further? - I am able to envision it with a bottom cap and some optimization (chamfers on the bottom, textured outside, …) as fruitful.

Not round, very neat and in line with your other designs.
Did you make that small rotaion for specific reasons?

An 8in1 is to my knowlege the holding capacity champion for now? - Maybe nine would even be possible…
Just how many bits are people wanting to store anyway?! → Maybe a poll?

I do have an plan on a bottom cap actually have the vision for it in my head already just need to draw it up. Might have to change the design a bit to except a bottom cover… but for how small it is it is very strong.

I just uploaded my competition for all the mini, micro, nano and what not single bit drivers out there. Claiming the lead for the smallest 6.35mm bit screw driver.

Size comparison:

OK. Here is one of mine:

I haven’t tested the breaking points though.

Looking to 3d design an actual offset screwdriver. I need to get into a very tight space and need to slightly tighten a tiny screw. I have this screwdriver but it is about 1/4” too long on the bit side. Thoughts on best way to design for printing?
