I’m having troubles with my CHT nozzle and normal PLA
First off, I’m having troubles with curling on overhangs. On the benchy bow. Secondly, it clogs regularly. It squishes before the copper insert and then fuses to the heat break, becoming stuck… At every temperature, 205 (rated for the filament) and 250…
I’ve also used Sunlu Meta PLA and didn’t experience any of these issues at 200°c. Never had it clogged, or curled.
If I instead use the hardened steel nozzle I bought, the benchy prints PLA perfectly, but at lower volumetric speed (obviously)
Have you guys confirmed the CHT clone’s nozzle insert is in the correct way? There is one side that is blunt and one that is profiled a little sharper. You want the sharper end facing up at the filament. Not sure if that would cause a clog but seems like it wouldn’t help if it were backwards.
I don’t feel like digging out my extra nozzles (packed away at the bottom of a box of parts), but here’s a pic of a correctly installed one with the beveled end facing up towards the filament. If I recall correctly, the other side is perfectly flat. I can’t say with certainty that this is enough to cause a problem, but it may… IDK.
Yeah that definitely wouldn’t help, that’s for sure. The Kingroon knock-off nozzles I bought came assembled though… are some delivered with the insert separate?
I’m using the Ali hotend v2 with the 0.4 CHT nozzle too… without any problems, regardless if PLA, PETG or ASA. For printing I use the same settings and speed, I’ve used with the original Bambu Lab 0.4 nozzle. I haven’t recalibrated the filament yet with the CHT nozzle.
