Why is this a thing? I can browse my files in LAN mode if I connect via SFTP so this seems like a purposeful limitation to force me into using the cloud service. Today was a prime example of why I never want to connect up to the cloud and rely on Bambu.
Bambu can you please enable this feature. Having to open WinSCP just to look at something that should be an option in Bambu Studio is kind of annoying.
For anyone that uses LAN mode that does want to see their files:
Download WinSCP
Connect via SFTP using port 990 and the username bblp
Password is your LAN only access code on the printer.
Encryption should be already set to TLS /SSL Implicit encryption by default, if not set it.
Would it be weird to say âI love youâ?
This whole LAN-only restriction, with other restrictions on top of it, like canât access the SD card, has been so frustrating.
THANK YOU for posting this workaround!(!!!)
The Panda Touch can do it, so those guys figured it out. You can control up to 10 printers with one of those things so I got one just for getting around this stupid problem.
With Bambuâs latest shenanigans (I can no longer print when my VPN is enabled) I decided to give LAN Mode a try. I followed Beermans advice on setting up WinSCP and it tries to connect but I get this error
I had similar issues when I tried and after about an hour of X rated swearing towards Bambu I went old school.
I disabled the SSL in the BambuStudio.conf file and in Studio all still worked fine.
Tried again with WinSCP and got nowhere.
Took me a while to realise I should exclude Win SCP from my VPN or turn the VPN offâŚ
SFTP worked fine - once.
Then I kept messing with ports and protocols one by one as I found them online.
Despite having tried early on already Implicit TSL/SSL turned out to work fine.
IP of the printer, bblp for the user name (SMALL LETTERS!) and the access code for the printer as the password.
Port 990
One thing that seems to help if the connect does not want to start is to use Studio to get a connection and then let it rest in the preview tab.
Hope thatâs helps in some ways⌠Good luck!
Thanks for the reply. Tried turning VPN off, still no joy. After some poking around it seems as if my brand new printer no longer sees the sd card. I can pop it into my PC and see the files but on the actual printer screen it says no card present. We will see how well customer support works. I am starting to regret spending so much money on this thing.
HmmâŚ
This getting a bit odd, although I am not going as far as saying there IS a connection butâŚ
Since these last firmware âupdatesâ for a better security came out I found quite a few posts and topics where people encounter sudden SD card problems.
I always recommend using the format tool sdcard.org provides.
These guys define the standards and know what they are doing, unlike WindowsâŚ
There is also this thing about updates of Studio and printer firmware still creating a big mess for some users.
Am a bit in a hurry here today but Bambu has a page in the Wiki for the SD card in there also the files that SHOULD be on there, including the folder structure.
For most people it is original g-ode files on the SD failing to print but as there is also some defaults and config stuff involved it might help to download the files for the current firmware and to copy them onto the freshly formatted card before sticking it in the printer again.
Thatâs not the problem, at least I donât think it is. I am not trying to print from the card, just view the time lapse videos. The card was formatted using the printer and was working last night when it recorded a print. When I put the card in my PC I can see that video. I wonder if this is related to LAN mode.
